CDEM 'fee-free' training - EM (ACE)

The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) established the 'Emergency Management Adult and Community Education' fund, known as EM (ACE) for the specific purpose of training Civil Defence volunteers. The purpose of the fund is to enable approved CDEM volunteers who meet all of the entry criteria to access quality training at no cost to themselves or their CDEM organisation. To be eligible for 'fee-free' EM (ACE) funded training, attendees must meet all of the following criteria:

Criterion 1: Be a CDEM Volunteer

For the purpose of the EM (ACE) fund, volunteer refers to an unpaid worker who willingly donates their time and effort to civil defence emergency management. For the purpose of the EM (ACE) fund all council employees who are not employed as a CDEM professional be regarded as volunteers and as such should be eligible to access the EM ACE Fund.

Criterion 2: Be a New Zealand citizen OR resident

2a: A New Zealand citizen and provide an original or certified copy of one or more of the following documents:
i) a New Zealand birth certificate; or
ii) a New Zealand passport; or
