Explore team structure and identify effective team structure for diverse SAR contexts.
Demonstrate understanding of situational awareness for a SAR team leader.
Explore the effective management of subjects by a SAR team leader.
Determine hazard minimisation and risk management strategies for operating in a SAR area.
As a team member provide leadership within a search or rescue team.
How long do you get?
This assignment is due for completion 6 months after the practical workshop or as advised by SARINZ. Some of you may find the concepts here to be difficult and therefore be tempted to leave the assignment. It is therefore important that you start this assignment as soon as possible and ask for assistance early.
