Canterbury Tracking Refresher

On Saturday 19 May 2007 the first of the non-standards based refresher workshops kicked off at 0800 in Methven, Canterbury. NZLSAR personnel from Oxford, Pegasus (Chch), Timaru and Omarama attended to refresh and update their Tracking and Sign Cutting skills and knowledge.

The workshop was primarily practical skills based (90%), with only case studies and key concepts forming the theory components. Any developments in the full course were also included in the refresher to insure a minimum base knowledge across all former course attendees regardless of when they attended the full two day standards based course.

The workshop concluded at around 2130 after the completion of a two hour night Sign Cutting exercise and most of the exhausted course participants settled down for
