Bruce Heesterman

Director Location: Wellington

Bruce qualified with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Canterbury University in 1985 and began working for New Zealand Post Limited when it was formed from a government department in 1987.

Bruce was responsible for the design and deployment of a large range of postal automation processing facilities and operational systems throughout the mail operations environment within New Zealand.  The mid 1990’s saw Bruce leading postal business re-engineering teams in Malaysia, South Africa and Argentina before returning to a senior management position in NZ.  In 1996, Bruce became GM Operations, responsible for over 4500 staff collecting, sorting and delivering one billion addressed items per year. 

Bruce was appointed to the position of Regional Sales Director in 2001 for Transend Worldwide Limited, covering the Middle East, Asia and Pacific countries and became General Manager of Transend NZ Post’s international consulting business in early 2002.

In 2005 Bruce was appointed to the position of Group Manager International, with Airways New Zealand and is a Director of its subsidiary company Aviation English Services.

Bruce has Directed on the Board of Addressworks Limited and Maltapost Ltd, Chairs On The Edge Leadership Trust and is a Trustee of a Community Orientated charitable organisation in Wellington.
