Clue Site Processing

This course is the third in the tracking series and is designed to analyse and process clue sites and interpret information in clue rich areas during a wilderness search operation. eg. field camps, water points, rubbish and toilet sites. In depth processing and the rationale and concepts supporting it forms the basis for the learning that follows. The course is field based with both theory and practical components and normally includes an overnight camp.

Course recommended for: all search and rescue personnel involved in the field.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of the Track and Clue Awareness and Tracking courses and a high skill level including recent Tracking experience.

This is an advanced course that requires participants to be operating at a higher sign/evidence detection level than previous tracking based courses. Participants that are not 'current' or operating at a high level may find aspects of this course difficult.

Venue recommendations: classroom type setting for inside work with 1-2 large whiteboards, Data Projector, OHP/PowerPoint screen, multi box and extension cord. Access  to a mixture of bush, forest, river environments for outdoor elements and an uncontaminated area suitable for multiple overnight campsites.  eg: school, scout, outdoor pursuits camp.

Venue hire, participant accommodation and catering are a local cost.

NOTE: As part of the overnight campout participants will be expected to cook dinner and have breakfast at their respective sites to leave "normal" campsite sign for others to process.

Participants should have suitable food and equipment to undertake these two meals in the wilderness
